  Электронная схема, состоящая из большого числа взаимосвязанных устройств, расположенных на одном полупроводниковом элементе, как правило, со стороной 10 мм. Интегральные схемы – основа современных компьютерных технологий. Полупроводниковая схема, обычно располагающаяся на небольшом кремниевом чипе, содержащая транзисторы, диоды, резисторы, конденсаторы и т.д., изготовленные средствами микротехнологии.
